Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) is the use of photovoltaic materials to replace conventional materials in the construction industry. 


In this sector, HANERGY Mobile Energy is a world leader in thin-film solar energy, which has been working hard since 2009 to integrate solar technology worldwide, including HanTile shingles (solar shingles).




Launched in 2017, solar shingles perfectly combine state-of-the-art technology, efficiency, and aesthetics. They are an attractive replacement for traditional roof tiles as they convert sunlight into electricity, generating energy savings and providing a greener life in buildings. 


Laboratory research shows that every 100 square meters of solar roof tile installation can reduce a home's emissions of 322 tons of carbon dioxide, 1045 kilograms of sulfur dioxide, and 910 kilograms of nitrogen oxides in 30 years. Environmental benefits are equivalent to planting 340 trees. 


In addition, solar shingles have a useful life 2 to 3 times longer than the useful life of shingles made of conventional materials, which makes them beneficial both economically and socio-environmentally, since they reduce the amount of waste in general.



In June 2019, HANERGY partnered with a Spanish energy services company to complete a project to install 360 units of solar roof tiles placed on a 125 square meter rooftop. The installation was carried out on a house in the city of Viseu, Portugal. 


With a total of 11.5 kWp, the installation can generate 15,000 kWh of electricity each year, the energy produced for self-consumption and as energy supply for the heating and cooling system of the house through the use of heat pumps and a geothermal system.

The client, Mr. Joo Morais, states that using the HanTiles solar tile system as a roofing system generates a greater impact on potential customers and also substantially reduces labor costs, as this project was completed in 5 working days.
